This is a striking Chinese porcelain ginger jar decorated in the 1000 flowers pattern with birds. The pattern is glazed in tones of violet, green, yellow, purple, blue and white against a black background. The piece measures about 8 1/2 in height, exclusive of its cover and 10 to the top of the finial. It has a diameter of about 9 at its widest. The underside is stamped with Chinese characters. It is in very good condition - a tiny glaze flake to the finial (see last close-up photo), otherwise very clean with no chips, cracks or other wear. Lovely piece - beautiful in the right decor!
